Services

Polaris Marine Constructions commenced operating on the 1st of November 2019 after Polaris Marine saw an opportunity to acquire some of the assets the former marine construction company Waterway Constructions Pty Ltd. Key personnel also transferred across which meant Polaris Marine Constructions inherited a rich culture and history built over decades-long experience delivering marine infrastructure projects along the NSW coast. Our portfolio of clients is a testament to the professionalism and care we bring to every project. We deliver projects for government agencies, tier-1 construction contractors, local councils, private businesses & homeowners.

Polaris Marine provides reactive maintenance, remedial and urgent work services to marine structures from Newcastle to Port Kembla. Of note, PMC manages the Transport for New South Wales (formerly RMS) Tier 1 Commuter Wharf Maintenance Contract maintaining 50 of the primary commuter wharves in Sydney, Newcastle & Port Kembla Harbours and the Aids to Navigation Maintenance Contract within Sydney & Botany Harbours for the Port authority of New South Wales.

Polaris Marine Constructions has the capability to delivery all forms of marine piling, including driven, vibrated, screwed or jetted piling. The business has extensive experience in both timber and steel plumb and raker piling from traditional timber jetty piles potted into rock, to 1200 diameter heavy wall steel piles screwed and driven into rock.

Our team at Polaris Marine Group also have a well-documented history of vessel and structure demolition and removal, including projects from the removal of the ablution block at Snapper Island, to structure dismantling, demolition and disposal including piles and marine infrastructure. We have experience in the delicate operations required for heritage and hazardous works packages and pride ourselves on our history of 100% environmental containment.

Polaris Marine is in the enviable position of having two in-house commercial dive teams and dive support vessels. From hydraulic pile cutting and removal, to pipe and cable positioning, to underwater welding, to salvage and wreck recovery; our teams are constantly re-training in new techniques and utilise state of the art equipment and tools to undertake all subsea works. Our dive teams work to the strictest of regulations and all divers are accredited to the ADAS scheme.

The operations team has the capacity and experience to undertake large scale maritime works including all ancillary structures and services. Our team is dedicated to specialist maritime construction requiring skills and experience unique to our environment. We are committed to skill development through our Bridge & Wharf Carpentry apprentice scheme to ensure essential specialist skills are retained. The business employs approximately 20 qualified bridge and wharf carpenters and 6-8 apprentices enabling us to deliver complex traditional bridge and wharf, maintenance and structure remediation projects
